The official catalog of the National Art Center, Tokyo is the exhibition ``Reiko Ikemura: Earth and Stars: Our Planet,'' which introduces a complete picture of the artist's works based in Europe and active internationally. Ikemura has used a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, drawing, watercolor, prints, photography, and video, to express the various aspects of the creation and change of things that exist in this world, including their latent possibilities. Ikemura's uniquely ambiguous visions, such as girls, dreamlike statues, fantastical hybrid creatures, and landscapes integrated with people and animals, effortlessly change their appearance from image to image. In this work, you can sense Ikemura's strong philosophy of accepting the diversity of existence in all living things and all things that are born and unborn.
