Leiko Ikemura creates paintings, films, drawings, sculptures, and poems. Guided by the belief that at our core, we are all the same, she constructs her own universe, which is both charming and dark, inhabited by girlish figures, usagi, and cats. Recurring themes in her work are life and death, femininity and nature, subjects she approaches from the concept of the four seasons.
