In response to the carte blanche offered by the Musée Jenisch Vevey on the occasion of the Festival Images, Zilla Leutenegger proposes with Zig Zag Stoel and Rodeo Z, an installation that re-enacts the codes and atmospheres of an American western film.
The Zurich artist thus continues her reflection on interior space, play and drawing. As usual, she plays with reality in the manner of a tightrope walker who would walk on the thread separating the universe of dreams and life. She tries to push back the impossibilities, by making a shadow wearing a cowboy hat walk in balance on the edge of a chair facing a character swinging on a rocking chair. Like an echo, the letter Z (for Zilla) appears in the background of both the titles of the artist's works and the shape of the chair. His proposal extends outside the museum - on the façade of the Vevey fire station - with Schlafbrille, a poetic installation that is activated at night.
