Within the program “Fronteras Suspendidas” and within the framework of the 2nd edition of BIENALSUR, a tour of the works in collaboration between Jorge Macchi and Edgardo Rudnitzky was presented at the MuseoMAR “Marathon”.
For the first time, both artists showed all of their joint work carried out since 2003, which includes videos, video installations, sound installations and performances. The collaborative work of Macchi and Rudnitzky is presented as a clear reference to the transdisciplinary approach and creative dialogue. The dilution of the idea of “The artist” as an individual author; the limits and integration between visual and sound art; remote work, travel and argentinian artists on the global scene are some of the topics that will appear in this exhaustive tour of the joint work of these two artists.
“Fronteras Suspendidas” is a pedagogical and curatorial project that has been developed at the MuseoMAR – Museum of Contemporary Art of Provincia de Buenos Aires since 2016 coordinated by Sebastián Tedesco and Mariano Luna. The project proposes a space for thought and creation in relation to the limits and permeable contacts that separate contemporary art from the other, which is always there, apparently outside its field, in many cases from different trades or professions, other times in relation to institutions, exhibition spaces and geographic borders. In the ideal context that the city of Mar del Plata offers as a pole on the periphery for the periphery and with the potential that this notion allows in the contemporary intellectual thought scene, the meeting represents the double opportunity to know in depth the works and the artists’ thinking and approaching reflection on these issues.
