Beatriz González

Auras Anónimas, 2020
Editor: La Oficina del Doctor - Casas Riegner Bogota

The book "Auras Anónimas: Beatriz González" is a testimony to the persistence of Beatriz González, who after a decade of commitment managed to turn Los Columbarios into a cultural heritage site and prevent its demolition. The work consists of engraved tombstones that give privacy to the empty spaces where previously lay inert bodies. Thus generating a reflection on the importance of mourning and the memory of the dead of the war in Colombia.

"What is exciting is that now, despite the ups and downs, always accompanied by Casas Riegner is that this is the moment in which we feel, for the first time, that this time we are not going to leave crying. And that, in addition, everything is condensed in the book, the beautiful book with photographs by Oscar Monsalve, with texts by Jorge Orlando Melo and Cuauhtémoc. Everything that it means to see the culmination of this little book, a little black book with a photo of some roofs, that tells the story of years of work and of believing in saving a work of art, moves me very much" (Beatriz González during the Conference on the book "Auras Anónimas: Beatriz González" with Cuauhtémoc Medina. October, 2021).
