Lumpy Blue Sweater consists of a blue sweater, a booklet and a series of eighteen framed photographs. The booklet includes a monologue about the cycles of the fashion industry (demonstrated through the example of a blue sweater) from the film The Devil Wears Prada (2006). The booklet also contains cropped images from a photo taken in the apartment of Ghislain Mollet-Viéville during the exhibition Établir le Désordre by André Cadere in 1976, depicting a woman in a blue sweater holding a Barres de bois rond by Cadere. The framed photographs repeat the cropped images in the booklet, each accompanied by a caption taken from the eighteen chapter titles of Guy de Maupassant’s Bel Ami (1885), such as “Death And A Proposal.”
